Diving & Snorkeling
The Great Maya Reef

Diving enthuasists will be thrilled with the sites and services on Cozumel. The warm waters average between 25º C and 28ºC (77ºF to 82ºF) and visibility remains excellent throughout the year.
The reefs off Cozumel are part of the Great Maya Reef that stretches south from Isla Contoy to the Gulf of Honduras in Central America. >

Cozumel Marine Reef National Park was established in 1996 to protect the reefs. The park status preserves the reefs for future generations of divers.<
The range of reefs is extraordinary - novice divers can plan shallow dives while experienced certified divers can explore steep walls and caves.

Dive centres on Cozumel cater to snorkel or scuba divers and offer gear rental, 2-tank trips, night dives, instruction, open water training dives, and full certification courses.
Some of Cozumel's Reefs include:
  • Paraiso
  • Chankanaab
  • Yucab
  • San Fransisco
  • Santa Rosa
  • Palancar
  • Punto Sur
  • Maracaibo
